Hello Everyone This is ME!
Well, hello my dearest readers! How very Bridgeton of me. Anyway, my name is Rebecca Hamby and I’m so incredibly thankful you’ve found yourself on my page. If it was an accident, please stay you may find something you like; and if not, I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Anyway, hi again and welcome. I am a dark romance author from the beautiful state of North Carolina, where I reside with my husband, two children and one doggo. I have found myself in many different career paths but ultimately began writing during that crazy time of 2020. How did I begin my writing journey you ask, well like many people in 2020 I found myself at home a lot and needed something to occupy my mind. Now I’ve always loved writing and found it as a way to release all the chaos that buildups up in my head in a safe and organized manner.
Yes, I am also a reader and I felt during this time I could finally allow myself to write the stories that have been occupying my brain for years. With my writing it started off as nightmares I would have and when awoken in the middle of the night by these very vivid dreams, I would immediately write down everything I could remember. Then after much thought, I decided to use those notes to create a story that fast became my first book; The Shadows.
Thus, creating a monster in me where I have now become a full-time author where I get to live out my dream of creating and writing complex and raw stories for others the enjoy. While I’ve been writing darker romances the past few years, I do have new adult romances and contemporary romances in the works, but shh don’t tell anyone just yet because it’s a secret for now.

More About Me
Never in my life did I think I could actually make my dream a reality. I’ve come so far from being in the Army for six years, then a nurse, a photographer, a physical trainer and now a writer. I spent years trying to find what sets my soul on fire when I knew what it was all along. It was as simple as reflecting on my past and making a list of what truly made me smile. It was writing!
Since I can remember, I’ve been writing short stories, signing up for creative writing classes, and found a sense of peace with creating a world I could escape in. I kick myself in the butt for not realizing it sooner, but now that I have, I’m never looking back. If I can find my purpose at the ripe age of 29 when I finally made the final career change, you can too.
I’ve been a reader since I could read. Which, fun fact I had to redo second grade because I couldn’t read properly. I had a severe speech impediment and was too embarrassed to ask for help. So, the eight-year-old second grader found herself repeating the grade and it was the best decision my parents made. My mom brought this to light a while ago when she said to me, “Becca I’m so proud of you. From that the little girl who couldn’t read or even say her name properly, has grown up to become a full blown author. And a thriving author at that.”
We joke about this now, but it truly makes me laugh how the universe works sometimes. I hope I can inspire others to dig deep down in yourselves to find what gives you the warm fuzzies so you too can live out your dreams.
I know I’ve been sooooo terrible at keeping up with the website the past few years, but I will actively be working to get myself in gear to keep you all updated on all things author related.
